The 1851 census shows the family living in Harlow; Elizabeth's birthplace has been transcribed as St Pancras and indeed St Pancras had a major railway terminus and George, her father was described as Station Master. Furthermore a birth of Elizabeth Jay is recorded in 1840 in St Pancras; the manuscript census return however suggests she was born in Shadwell, Middlesex.She died aged just 17 and shares the grave with her father, George and brother Samuel Poundley Jay. Her mother, Elizabeth Jay, nee Poundly, rests in the adjacent grave.Her death record could be that in Epping, December quarter of 1857 4a 41.
