Bea Atkinson was a long time teacher at the original Lake Weir High School, Summerfield (really Sunset Harbor), Florida, USA. She was a mentor, student council sponsor, senior class faculty sponsor, and a true professional. Prior to that she taught at Weirsdale High School.
Miss Bea was born in Summerfield and was also a psychology professor at Central Florida Community College. She was a graduate of Stetson University and the University of Florida.

A native of Summerfield, she lived most of her life in Weirsdale. Miss Atkinson was a psychology professor at Central Florida Community College and a former teacher at Weirsdale High School.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Atkinson, Sunset Harbor.
