Virginia Mae Plummer passed away in a Modesto hospital Monday night after she was hit by a 2003 GMC pickup in Jamestown.
Virginia, a resident of Jamestown, received major internal head trauma and was life-flighted to a Modesto hospital. Although traveling at the speed limit of 25 mph, the driver failed to notice her as she tried to cross the street. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and of causing great bodily injury.
Virginia participated in programs for the learning disabled. She was a happy, friendly and fun-loving person who worked two days a week at Good Stuff thrift store. She loved to keep busy and enjoyed playing bingo, riding bumper cars and race cars at carnivals, walking, golfing, bowling, walking and Jeep rides.
Virginia loved life and was loved by all who knew her or came in contact with her.
Virginia was survived by two sisters, a brother and a huge family of nieces and nephews.
