Anna R Staun was born in Alexandria, Virginia, September 30, 1843 and died at her home in Marshall township, Oct 5, 1929 at the age of 86 years and 5 days.
She was married to Singleton W Gilbert in Pennsylvania in November 1860. Three children were born to this union; Mrs Josephine Reynolds and Christian M Gilbert, who lived with their mother at her home here. The youngest child Erminnie Gilbert Mock died in Omaha in January, 1917. After the death of her husband, Mrs Gilbert moved with her chlldren to Illinois. She and Joseph B Mock were married at Henry, Illinois, in 1881. Mr Mock died in 1884 and she came to Marshall in 1884 and with the exception of two years in Clay Center, lived at the same place the rest of the time She is survived by her daughter and son and five grandchildren and eight great grandchilren (sic). Mrs Mock's granddaughter, Nellie Mock, now Mrs Roy Frankinberry, made her home with her grandmother from a little girl until she married to go to her own home. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon October 7, conducted by Rev F. C. Lewis of Clay Center and burial was made in the Clay Center cemetery.
