"Mrs. James Aiken. The death of Mrs. James Aiken, of Texarkana, sister of the late Mrs. John K. Tallman, of this city, was recently noticed in this BULLETIN. The Texarkana Daily Independent of last Tuesday contains the following: 'Jemima K. Cornwall was born in Scipio, Cayuga county, N. Y., on March 7, 1834, and was married to Col. James Aiken, October 12, 1853, at the home of her childhood. Two children, Charles H., and Miss Fannie Aiken, blessed this union, and the family came to Texarkana in 1880, where they resided in happiness, love and prosperity until 4 o'clock last Sunday evening, when death visited tbe happy home and bore away the wife and mother. Mrs. Aikin was well known to our citizens. Her many good deeds of charity endeared her to all with whom she came in contact - not only in the family and social circles, but in her many missions of kind, Christian charity. . . . Mrs. Aikin was ill about two weeks with fever. The funeral occurred on Tuesday in Texarkana."
