Edward LeRoy Newhart Expires Saturday Morning After Long Illness
Edward LeRoy Newhart, 62, _06* North Cory street, died from carcinoma at the home at 3 o'clock Saturday morning following an illness of 15 months.
Employed by the Central Ohio Light and Power company, he had spent 33 years in the service of the electric company, _____* as ground man.
He was born in Bellaire, O., July 4, 1976, the son of George and Mary Jane (Forsher) Newhart and moved to Hancock county 55 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Ferrell, whom he married in 1902 and four of their eight sons and daughters. Those living are Pearl Newhart, at home,; Mrs. Esther Fischer, North Baltimore, Mrs. Sadie Marvin, 411 Ash avenue, and Mrs. Jennie Abell, 422 Cherry street. There are four grandchildren.
Mrs. Ida Mae Ghaster is a sister and Manuel Newhart a brother, both of Mt. Blanchard.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Coldren funeral home with Rev. I. H. Neumann, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
The body was taken to the residence Sunday morning.
