Mr. Joe Sylvester Cobb, 92 of 115 Charlotte Highway died Wednesday, August 13,1997 at his home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev.Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born in Anderson, Mr. Cobb was retired from Celanese and was a member of First Baptist Church. A Navy veteran, he served in World War II in the Pacific and was the oldest member of the American Legion Post No. 43.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Cobb of Fort Mill; His son, Edmund Cobb of Chesnee and his stepson, Paul Threatt.
