Maurice L. "Bud" Anstadt, 81, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND. Bud was born October 5, 1928, in Moland Township, to Fred and Hilda Anstadt. He grew up in Glyndon and graduated from Glyndon High School in 1946. On December 7, 1949, he married Beverly J. Sandland at Glyndon Lutheran Church and together they started a family. Bud was the United States Postmaster in Glyndon for 26 years. He had a true compassion for helping others. He was civic minded, serving as the Mayor of Glyndon, was on the Town Council and the Church Council. Bud was also a business owner, a member of the Rod and Gun Club, the Lions, the Athletic Club, and a Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed the outdoors such as hunting, fishing and gardening. Bud was loyal to his family, friends, his neighbors and the community.
Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly; five sons, Michael of San Francisco, CA, Jeffrey of Dilworth, MN, James (Debbie) of Frazee, MN, David (Lynne) of Fargo, ND, Thomas of Fargo, ND; daughter, Melissa (Jason) Amdahl of Breckenridge, MN; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Albin "Pete" of Spokane, WA, two sisters, Irene (Denis) Leach of Moorhead, MN, Ione (Gordon) Langseth of West Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Fred Anstadt; one brother, Ronald Anstadt; and sister-in-law, Jean Anstadt.
