Carrie Ione (Gifford) Harmon
Carrie Harmon, born in Hankinson, ND, September 2, 1923 to Olen and Ione Gifford passed away on December 5, 2009. She graduated from Minot High in ND.
She had three children with her first husband. She married Eugene William Harmon on January 4, 1940 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Seattle, WA. Two children blessed this marriage.
Carrie started work at the Bon Marche at Northgate in 1956 and retired from South Center Warehouse in 1977. Carrie and Gene bought and remodeled multiple homes while their family grew. They built a retirement home on Camano Island and then moved to an Everett condominium in 2002.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene W. Harmon; brothers, George (Sharon) Gifford, and Russell (Joan) Gifford; and sister, Susan (Max) Brown; children, Michael (Mary), Karen Gratrix, Judi (Bruce) Taylor, and David; grandchildren, Scott Huhn, Thadd (Kym) Huhn, Kaisa (Jeff) Ferguson, John (Shannon) Harmon, Emily Harmon, Melissa Harmon, and Ryan Harmon; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Olivia, Zachery, Grace, Alexandria and Megan Ferguson, Kaedyn Taylor, and Nicholas Huhn.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Wallace, Roland, O.D., and Glen; sister, Myra Sitch; daughter, Susan May Clifton; and grandson, Kaare Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on December 17, 2009 at Evergreen Washelli Chapel, 11111 Auroa Ave N., Seattle, WA.
In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made in Carrie's name to Group Health Hospice, 2100 124th Ave NE Suite 110, Bellevue, WA 98005.
