Mr. Clarence Ervin Bridges passed away Sunday, June 13 while living at The Village Health Care at The Glen Retirement Center in Shreveport, LA.

Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday June 15, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Dubach, La. with the Reverend Mike Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service and burial will be at Liberty Hill - Taylor Cemetery in Farmerville, LA.

Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Esie Bridges, four sisters, and two brothers.

Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife of 73 years, Kelma Albritton Bridges, son: Johnny and wife Debbie of Hot Springs, AR; daughter: Roxie Downing and husband Jerry of Shreveport, LA. grandsons: Trey Roberson and Ted Bridges; granddaughters: Cathy Brown and Karen Boggs, and three great grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bridges served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during World War II. After his military service Mr. Bridges went to work for Texas Gas Transmission where he was employed for 31 years, and retired in 1981. He enjoyed the outdoors with his fishing and hunting and loved gardening. Until moving to The Glen in Shreveport, he was a resident of Dubach, La. for 50 years.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons: Andy Tripp, Jonathan Tripp, Michael Smith, Ted Bridges, Trey Roberson and nephew Chuck Mullins.

The family wants to thank the staff and all the nurses, and aides' at The Glen for their love and care given to Mr. Bridges over the past ten years.

One of Mr. Bridges favorite saying was "You must take up your cross and follow Jesus".
