Walter's brother, Clarence Kupers married Lily's sister, Clara Heimbigner. The two couples lived and worked together on the Kupers family farm in Mohler, Lincoln County, WA. They moved to the farm in 1936
They lived on the farm until 1960 when they moved to Harrington, WA.
He had been in poor health since 1968 when he had a heart attack. Despite his failing health he was able to continue farming.
Death came by his own hand.
