Knight of the Garter, Constable of Windsor Castle, Justice for Brecon.

Fourth son of William Bourchier and Anne of Woodstock, grandson of Sir William Bourchier and Eleanor Lovinae, Thomas of Woodstock, Duke of Gloucester and Eleanor de Bohun.

Sir John married Margery Berners, the daughter and heiress of Richard Berners, Esq., of West Horsley, Surrey and his second wife, Philippe Wallingridge, the daughter of Walter. They were married before 1442, the date if their fine, and had three sons and two daughters:

Sir John was knighted in 1426, invested as a Knight of the Garter in 1459 and summoned to Parliament 1455 to 1472 as Johanni Bourgchier de Berners chivaler. He died 16 or 21 May 1474, buried at Chertsey Abbey. His widow died 18 Dec 1475.

Some sources spell his name and that of his ancestors Bourgchier.
