Warren L. "Luke" Gates 64, of Rt. 3, Lafayette, was dead on arrival at 10:20 a.m. Saturday at Home Hospital. He had been ill a year.
Mr. Gates owner of Deluxe Cab Co. until 1944 was born in Wea Township and had been a life resident of Tippecanoe County. He was also employed several years by National Homes and Century Homes prior to retiring 10 years ago.
In 1944 he was married here to Beverly Ricks who is employed by Hudlow Cleaners.
Surviving with the widow are two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Richard Wortman of Rt. 3, Lafayette and Mrs. William Easterbrook of Rt. 5, Lafayette.
Peaches was his dog who was buried with him.
