Born in Weston Hills, Spalding, Lincolnshire, England

OBITUARY:
Henry Blackburn, son of Thomas and Mary Wallas Blackburn, was born in Weston Hills, Lincolnshire England 19 June 1849. In 1851 he with his parents, embarked from England in the ship, "Earl Gray," and instead of landing in America sailed around South Africa and landed in Australia. Here the family joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Henry being baptized there 18 December 1860. They lived in Australia about twelve years. They sailed for America in May 1864, arriving in California in July of that year. Living in California for several years they finally made their way to Utah going to Las Vegas, Nevada, and then to the Muddy.
In 1871, all the Saints moved to Longvalley, being advised to do so by Brigham Young, who promised them they would be blessed by doing so.
Brother Blackburn lived during the twelve years duration of the United Order in Orderville and assisted in the pioneering and building of this place.
He was an active, true and faithful member of the Church, working and magnifying his calling in the priesthood and organizations of the church. He was an active worker in the Sunday School for sixty years, most of his time being spent as teacher. He was an ardent student of the gospel and had a thorough knowledge of all principles and doctrines of the Church.
He married Nancy Beal Webb of Parowan, 23 November 1883, by whom he had three children. His wife, Nancy died in 1890. He married Elvira Cox September 4, 1892, by whom he had ten children.
His wife, Elvira, and all but one of his eleven surviving children were present at his funeral, his daughter, Mrs John Charboneau, having returned to California a few days before his death. The children who survive are Mrs Hans Chamberlain, Orderville, Mrs Albert Cane of Cedar City, Mrs Alice Heaton Cedar City; Mrs John Charboneau of California; Thomas, Lester, Easton, Mrs Lyle Chamberlain, Ted, Clara and Tone, all of Orderville.
