--Chicago Tribune, September 7, 1938, pg. 26
Mr. Lorenzen came to the U.S. in 1880 with his younger brother William, aboard the ship Wieland. The rest of the family came over a few months later. They lived in the West Town area of Chicago.
Mr. Lorenzen and his brothers William and John (possibly #136888738) were the sons of JESSEN CHRISTIAN LORENZEN and SOPHIE FRIEDERIKE CHRISTIANE ANDRESEN. Jessen died in Chicago; Sophie in Germany/Denmark. Until his parents' burial places are found, Christian Lorenzen will be linked to Maria, his father's second wife, to keep him connected with his half-siblings. His father's parents were CHRISTIAN LORENTZEN and METTE JESSEN.
Baptized Christian Johannes Lorenzen on April 6, 1862 in Tonder, Denmark (then called Tondern, a part of Prussia).
