Mabel L. Clubb Patterson, 77, of Hanover, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.

She was born July 11, 1932, in Henry County, Ky., the daughter of Newton and Rhelda Raisor Clubb. She resided most of her life in Madison and married Harley George Patterson in January 1952. She served as the Jefferson County sheriff's matron under Sheriff Beck Alexander. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed caring for and raising her children; enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, porcelain dolls and angels. She enjoyed flower gardening and being with her grandchildren. She attended Brooksburg Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Jefferson County Post No. 9.

She is survived by a son, Marvin R. Patterson of Madison; four daughters, Wanda K. Turner of Madison, Virginia E. Bruce of Milton, Ky., and Carolyn F. Jessup and Cheryl L. Bruther, both of Hanover; one stepdaughter, Patricia Fisher of Brooksburg; two brothers, Elmo and Clarence Clubb, both of Madison; three sisters, Carolyn Otter, Shirley "Teeny" Lock and Virginia Boone, all of Madison; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, who died Sept. 13, 1984; stepdaughter, Audrey Porter; three brothers, Charlie, Gayle and Barton Clubb; and four sisters, Wanda Law, Edith Reed, Hazel Thevenow and Marie Hay.

The funeral was at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial was in the Brooksburg Cemetery.
