Mrs. Julia Ann McFarlane, 92, died Saturday at her home in Tittabawassee Township. Julia Ann Switzer was born Dec. 13, 1846, in Ontario. She was married to Robert McFarlane March 18, 1874, in Barrie, Ontario (from Ontario marriage registration #007752). They came to Laporte, Midland County, in 1887. Eighteen months later they moved to Tittabawassee Township. She had been a member of Freeland Methodist church for 40 years.

Mr. McFarlane died in 1917. Mrs. McFarlane leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ida VanBuren of Saginaw; a son, Louis McFarlane of Tittabawassee township; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Smith of Flint and Mrs. Emily Crampton of Laporte; two brothers, Alfred and Cunningham Switzer of California; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Taylor funeral home at Freeland. Rev. N.M. Prichard will officiate and burial will in Laporte cemetery.
