Charles Thomas Davis, 48, of Madison Township died suddenly yesterday during recuperation from surgery at the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been hospitalized ten days.

A mechanic with the Jessup-Rothrock Implement Co. in Mooresville, Mr. Davis had spent most of his life in Morgan County.

He was born July 5, 1908, in Plainfield, son of Fred W. and Elsie Wettle Davis. His mother is deceased, and his father now lives at Martinsville.

On May 9, 1938, he was married to Mary Hadley, who survives.

Also living are three children, Kenneth, Martha, and Daniel, all at home; two brothers, Phil and Ralph Davis of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Milhous of Bridgeport and Mrs. Esther Farren of Bloomington.

Mr. Davis was a member of the Mars Hill Free Methodist Church.

The Rev. Ed McFarland of Brooklyn will officiate at the funeral Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Harvey Funeral Home, Mooresville. Burial will follow in the White Lick Cemetery.
