Funeral services for Harold L. Allison, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14 in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Edwards, pastor, and the Rev. Bill Kent, retired Methodist minister of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Allison died at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday in the Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Born Feb. 26, 1917 in Roswell, N .M ., Allison had been a resident of Earth since 1948, moving there from Roswell. He married Veta Jean McKinstry on March 26, 1944, in Hagerman, N.M.
He was a farmer, a member of the First United Methodist Church, former director of Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce, former director of Bailey County Electric Co-Op, and Lamb County Soil Conservation District, He was named Man of the Year. Allison was a member of the U.S. Conferdate Air Force and was a director of Pleasant Valley Community Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as 2nd Lt. in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons, Fred Allison of Greenville, TX and Jim Allison of Muleshoe; two daughters, Carolyn Allison of Lubbock and Veta Skogland of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary Andreas of Ft. Sumner, N.M. and Ollie Mae Didlake of Vista, Calif.; a brother, Jim Grizzle of Clovis, N .M .; seven grandchildren, John Skagland III, Olivia Allison, Daniel Allison, Stuart Allison, Wyndi Allison, Marissa Allison and Austin Allison. One son, Jack Allison preceded him in death on June 22, 1973.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Jack Allison Opportunity plan P.O. Box 1035, Canyon, TX 79015-1035 or the First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe.
