Allison Rites Held Saturday
Services for Oscar Allison, 62, were held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, January 2 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Kent, pastor, officiating.
Interment was in Bailey County Memorial Part under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Allison died at 12:26 p.m. Friday in West Plains Medical Center.
He was born February 19, 1919 in Roswell, N.M. and married the former Sammy McKinstry January 2, 1948 in Roswell, N.M. He was a farmer in the Pleasant Valley Community since 1945, moving from Roswell, N.M.
Allison was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe and a charter member of Lamb County Water Conservation Board. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army Air Corp. and served in the European Theater stationed in Italy. He was a prisoner of war of Germany for 16 months.
Survivors include his wife Sammy; two sons, Sam of Clovis, N.M. and Mack of Altus, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Nan Pool of Brownfield and Mrs. Susan Black of Dumas; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Mae Didlake of Palos Verdes, Calif, and Mrs. Mary Andreas of Ft. Sumner, N.M.; three brothers, Harold and Gerald both of Muleshoe, and Jim Grizzle of Melrose, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
