Marie E. Chown, 87, of Mankato, Minn., died of a lung ailment Monday at Hillcrest Health Care Center there. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny.
Mrs. Chown was born in Van Wert and lived there as a youth before moving to Ankeny. She moved to Mankato in 1985. She had owned and operated the Coffee Shop Cafe in Ankeny with her husband and was a member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed church activities.
She is survived by a son, Dave of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Ralph Houck of Salem, Ore.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home in Mankato.
