The youngest of 10 children, Isaiah came to Bonaparte, Iowa with his brother, Aaron, in 1845 to engage in farming. In April of 1847, Isaiah signed up for a one year enlistment with Co. K of the 13th Regiment in Keosauqua, IA. He fought in the Mexican War mustering out in Corington, Kentucky in August of 1848, at the end of his service. He married Christiana Catharine Lynch in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, in the fall of 1848 before returning to Bonaparte, Iowa, where they had two children, Samuel and Mary. He died before his 29th birthday in 1855. His head stone was discovered in the basement of an old building in the 1970's and thinking that it was carved incorrectly, the stone remained in private hands until June of 2010. Research discovered that the stone wasn't placed as the widow didn't have the money to pay for it. A relative, buried in the cemetery in Bentonsport, Iowa, has someone buried next to her without a stone. With all the other Bringham's leaving the area, likely that Isaiah is buried next to Letitia Bringham. His stone was placed in this spot on June 10, 2010.
