Mrs.Hesta Davis, 60, well-known resident of Chandlersville, died suddenly at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, August 16.

The daughter of Alonzo and Mary Hayes Dixon, she was born in Johnson County, August 1, 1902 and had been a resident of Chandlersville for 38 years.

She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

She was the wife of Connie Davis, whom she married in 1924.
Surviving besides her husband are six sons, Paul Davis,Staffordsville; Clarence Davis, Oil Springs, Carroll Davis,Lexington, Millard, Chandlersville; Charles Davis, Winifred; James Davis, Columbus, OH; two daughters, Mary M. McKenzie, Chandlersville;Neva Green, Blaine; a brother, Rolla Dixon, city.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the freewill Baptist Church at Nippa with C.C. Hall, Scott Castle and Claude Preston as officiating ministers.
Music was by the Paintsville Quartet.
Burial was in the Hood Cemetery.
