Laura Cutler, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 24, at Heritage Nursing Home in Bancroft, where she had been a resident for the past few years. She celebrated her 89th birthday the day before her death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Bancroft, with the Rev. A.W. Nelson officiating.
Burial was in the Greenwood Township Cemetery, with the Garry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews, Jody Cutler, Donald Vande, Thomas Larson, Russell Olson, Timothy Cutler and James Blanchard.
Mrs. Cutler was born Feb. 23, 1885 at Benton Harbor, Mich., a daughter of George L. and Kvelyn Garland Vande.
She married Albert Cutler on August 31, 1903 at Estherville, and came to Bancroft in 1910,
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Cutler of Bancroft and Leonard Cutler of Waterloo; and two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Larsen of Bancroft and Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Fredericksen of Washburn, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother. Lawrence Vande of Oklahoma City, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Georgia Wolfe of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harry of Algona in 1956, and her husband on February 16, 1971.
