Last Rites Held Aug. 8th For Ben E. Frels, 76

Funeral services were held Wednesday,August 8th for Ben E. Frels,76,who died Monday,August6th at his home in Garwood.The services were held from the Triska Chapel in El Campo at 8:30 a.m. with Requiem High Mass sung at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada.The Rev.Edmund Bily officiated,with interment in the Nada Catholic Cemetery.

Mr.Frels was born in Frelsburg on January 17,1885.Mrs.Frels preceded her husband in death in 1952.

Survivors include his son Clarence of Garwood;daughters,Miss Josephine Frels,Nada,and Mrs.Walter Mathys of Wharton;three brothers,Ed of El Campo;Leon and Walter of Lolita;five sisters,Miss Annie Frels,Mrs.A.C. Weigal,El Campo,Mrs.Frank Satz,Karnes City,Mrs.L.L. Haton,Wharton,and Mrs.Charles Eggemeyer;eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Alois Bittner,Rudy Till,Lester Cranek,Gus Svoboda,Monroe Krenek and Joe Schoellmann.
