The Macon County Citizen - The Montezuma Georgian - February 21, 1935

Funeral services for Mrs. J. R. Peede, of Montezuma, were conducted from the residence in Spalding Monday afternoon. Mrs. Peede's death came as a shock to her family and friends. She died suddenly from a heart attack. At the time of her death she was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Peede was well known throughout the county and although she wasn't a native of Macon County, she has made this community her home for 42 years. She came to Montezuma from Taylor County following her marriage on October 2, 1887 and since that time has made her home in the Spalding community. She was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by eight sons, Fred Peede of Albany, Frank Peede of Albany, Floyd Peede of Albany, Flurry Peede, Foy Peede, Felix Peede, Morgan Peede and Bob Peede, all of Montezuma; and three daughters, Mrs. H. M. Pennington of Atlanta; Esther of Clinchfield and Florra Belle of Montezuma.

Dr. J. A. Thomas, pastor of the Methodist Church conducted the services and interment took place in Felton's Cemetery.
