Citizens & Georgian - Montezuma, Ga. - August 6, 1980

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 1, 1980 at 11 at the Montezuma United Methodist Church for Mr. William P. Deal, age 94 who died on July 30 in the Americus Sumter County Hospital. Rev. Joe Porterfield and Rev. Rev. C. Dick Reese, Jr. officiated and burial was in FELTON CEMETERY.

Mr. Deal was a native of Dade County, Alabama, but had resided here for 39 years. Mr. Deal was retired from Kroger Peanut Mill and was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church. He was married to the former Anna Pearl Brannon.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. M. D. Murphy of Capps, Alabama, Mrs. C. R. Smith of Albany, Ga., Mrs. H. D. Horne of Moultrie, Ga., Mrs. Douglas Kenney of Athens, Ga., Mrs. William T. Roberts and Mrs. J. H. Andrews, both of Montezuma and Mrs. J. B. Kopp of Macon, Ga. three sons, Heyward Deal of Macon, Ga., Larry Deal of Athens, Ga. and Merrill Deal of Orlando, Fla.; seventeen grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
