"The Angel of Death has been among us the past week and the shadow of his presence has been felt.... Word was received here on Thursday of the death of Andrew Austin in the hospital at Minot, N.D., as the result of falling beneath the wheels of a train at Portal the day before. Mr. Austin left here only the week before with the intention of building a shanty on his claim in that vicinity and his sudden and violent death was a sad blow to his family and friends. The remains arrived here Saturday night and were buried Monday in Root Prairie cemetery."
