Oddie Bissell, age 79, of Newhope, died Sunday, December 10, 2006.
He was born on December 13, 1926 at Newhope, the son of Elbert Monroe Bissell and Martha Ann Bennett Bissell.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bissell of Newhope; one son, Ronny Bissell of Newhope; four daughters, Beverly Weed of Mena, Sherry Dix of Portland, Oregon, Phyllis Parsons of Newhope and Linda Dallas of Nashville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in the Mount Joy Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating.
Interment was in Bissell Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
