Death of David K. Breneman - , 77, well known retired farmer of Clark County, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. W. Dielman, Wednesday norning, was held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, the Rev James M. Taylor conducting the service. The body was taken from here to McPherson where services will be held Friday before burial in the McPherson cemetery. The Stevenson funeral service was in charge of arrangements here. The following obituary was read during the services by Rev. Taylor. David K. Breneman, son of David Breneman and Anna Graybill Breneman, was born near Elizabetown, Penna, Feb 23, 1864, and passed away at Ashland, Kansas, October 1st, 1941 at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 8 days. In 1885 at the age of 21 years, he moved with his parents to Galva, McPherson, Kansas. In 1887 he was united in marriage to Louisa Brubaker. To this union were born two daughters and three sons: Mrs. C. Dielman, Ashland, Kansas, Mabel, Upland, Calif., Harvey of Mackville, Kansas, Lester of McPherson, Kansas and Earl of Omaha, Nebraska. During his active life he was engaged in farming at which he toiled judiciously industriously. After retiring from the farm, he engaged in the grain business for several years. In 1915 he moved his family to Ashland, Kansas where he again engaged in farming for a few years before final retiring from active life. He was converted to the Christian faith and became a member of the Brethern in Christ Church in early manhood and continued a sincere and failful member to the end. His wife and faithful compasion in his active years precreded him in death on December 21, 1921. On November 1940, diease overtook him and he has been a patient sufferer ever since. His passing ocurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. W. Ielman, who has so patiently and efficiently cared for him. He leaves to mourn his passing his children, all of whom survive him, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Source: The Clark County Clipper of 2 Oct 1941
