Kent was born July 30, 1936 in Cedarview to Orsen Reed and Thelma Fenn Anderton. He married Margaret "Peggy" Boren March 15, 1954. She died Jan. 5, 1981. He later married Clea Pace Crow Dec. 24, 1996.
Kent farmed most of his life, working with livestock and drove a water truck. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, yard work, gardening, birdwatching and spotting pheasants. He served in the Air Force for 4 years.
He is survived by his wife, Clea, Cedarview; children, Susan Larson Anderton, Vernal; Kenny (Kathy) Anderton, St. George; Sherrillee (Vince) Oliver, Vernal; James (Jessica) Anderton, Roosevelt; 2 step children, Sheryl Crow, Vernal; Ray Crow, Stansbury Park; Utah; 15 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bertha Kramer, Roosevelt; Don Anderton SLC; Lorraine Workman, Roosevelt; Val Anderton, Mesquite, Nev.; Gary Anderton Fort Worth, Texas; and Bruce Anderton, Lake Charles, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy, siblings, Lena McDonald, Bonnie Stoneberg, Joann Bowden and grandson, Casey Larson.
Funeral services will be held Thurs., June 10, at 11 a.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors presented by the American Legion Post #64 and the Utah National Guard.
