Chloe Lorraine Anderton Lawrence Workman, age 86, of Roosevelt, passed away December 3, 2013, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.

She was born February 8, 1927, in Montwell, to Orson Reed and Thelma Fenn Anderton. Lorraine went to school until the 8th grade when she dropped out to come to town and work. She worked at what is now Marion's Variety and lived above the store. She then worked in Elko and Reno, Nevada, where she met and married her first husband Charles Lawrence. Sadly, he was killed in an automobile accident when Lorraine was pregnant with their first child.

Nine months later, she married Chalmer Wilford Workman who was recently home from World War II. A short time later, Chalmer joined the Air Force and this began their life of living in various parts of the country. Finally they moved back to and settled in the Basin. Lorraine enjoyed working in her yard and it won a few awards from the city of Roosevelt.

She liked to ride around and loved to complain about everything. She was a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her children, Alan Workman, Robert Workman, both of Kearns; David Workman, Durango, CO; Kim (Mark) Anderton, Roosevelt; Jon Workman, Kathy Workman, both of Salt Lake City; 9 grandchildren, 8, great-grandchildren 1 great great grandson; brothers and sister, Bertha Kramer, Roosevelt; Val (Marlene) Anderton, Mesquite; Gary (Ismery) Anderton, Ft. Worth, TX; Bruce (Linda) Anderton, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy; brothers and sisters, Lena McDonald; Bonnie Stoneberg, Don Anderton, Kent Anderton, and JoAnn Banning. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Roosevelt Memorial Park. There will be a visitation prior to the services beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
