Mrs. Nancy V. McGraw was born in Brunswick county, VA, March 23 1800 and died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R. I. Ezell, near Loachapoka, Ala, October 13, 1874. When a child, her father, John Bass, settled near Eatonton, GA, where he spent the remainder of his life. She was married June 8th 1820 to Shepard B. Saunders, who died in 1840, leaving her with three children. The eldest, Rev. Wm. B. Saunders, was a faithful Methodist minister. It was at the home of the second that she died. The youngest, Rev. R. M. Saunders, is a member of the Virginia Conference. After living a widow twelve years, she was married to Major W. M. McGraw, Four years ago last May, she was a second time left a widow.
Her father was John Hix Bass and her mother was Rebecca Patillo Bass who both died in Putnam County Georgia.
