Maurine was active in community church circles and was an accomplished musician. Through her service and love for people in Dover, Del., the Maurine C. Hargraves Park was named after her. In Albuquerque, N.M., she directed a church and school musical group. In Covington, Ky., she was a member of the honorary group Kentucky Colonel.

Since 1971, she has been a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and served as a choir member, played the piano and organ, directed the choir, and enjoyed her passion of working with the youth, both with music and a special weekend tutorial program for academic improvement.

Through her zest for living life to the fullest, devotion to her husband, endless affection for her family, celebration for the fine arts, and exceptional love for people, Maurine exemplifies a woman that has left a "Legacy of Love" in the path she walked. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
