Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Clarence T. Dunn, 92, Yoakum native, who died Friday in a Schulenburg Rest Home
Services will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel, and at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Rev. Matocha officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Clarence T. Dunn was born and reared in Yoakum which recalls the family name by way of the designation of Dunn Street here. A Yoakum pioneer, Mr. Dunn donated 50 acres of land to the Catholic Church and Cemetery here and also made other donations, including railroad shop acreage, in which relatives, the May family also contributed. Church building contributions and other civic work were credited to the Dunn family which owned a large part of southwest Yoakum. Clarence T. Dunn, whose father was Stephen Dunn, son of Senator John Dunn of Refugio, was a member of the Old Trail Drivers of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Dunn Shuler, and a son, George Dunn.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Weatherly of Houston and Mrs. Lucille McLeod of Yoakum; four grandsons, 8 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister Mrs. Gussie Bader of Galveston; and seven nieces and nephews.
