Lucretia Thompson was born in December 1839 in New Haven, Addison County, Vermont. Her father, James, was 40, and her mother, Abigail nee Eldred, was 36.
She married George Whitefield Carr on April 15, 1863, in Middlebury, Vermont. They had four children in 16 years: Nellie Maud (1865-1941); William James (1869-1953), Spencer Howard (1871-1905) and Bessie Mary (1881-1970).
She died on March 16, 1933, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 93, and was buried there.
