Tipton Collins, 73, of Route 1, Box 241, Hindsville, died Oct. 23, 1983 at the Springdale Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1910 at Whorton Creek, the son of Silas and Beady Allis Dotson Collins. He was a retired construction worker, a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army, and he was a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Opal Herrington Collins of the home; four sons, Norval L. Collins of West Memphis, Ark., Loren D. Collins and Milford L. Collins, both of Hindsville and Sheridan T. Collins of Springdale; four daughters, Mrs. Ethelda F. Kauffeld of Little Rock, Mrs. Lovella M. Acuff of Springdale, Mrs. Norma Jean Willis of Glenrock, Wyo. and Mrs. Mildred C. McLaughlin of Garland, Tex.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., Oct. 26, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. John Carney officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dewey Acuff, Larry Acuff, David Kauffeld, Daniel Kauffeld, Utah Boling and Paul Vines.
