Mrs. Opal May Collins, 84, of Route 1, Box 137, Harrison, Ark., died Aug. 11, 1992, at Wichita, Kan. She was born March 27, 1908, at Smyrna, Ark., the daughter of Albert Layton and Nancy Duncan Herrington. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tipton Collins, on Oct. 3, 1983, and by one daughter, Miss Loretta Gale Collins on Dec. 19, 1943.

Survivors include four sons, Norval Collins of Harrison, Sheridan Collins of Farmington, Loren Collins and Milford Collins both of Hindsville; four daughters, Mrs. Ethelda Kauffeld of Little Rock, Mrs. Lovella Acuff, Mrs. Norma Jean Willis and Mrs. Mildred McLaughlin, all of Springdale; two brothers, Louis Herrington of Wichita, Kan., and Frank Herrington of Huntsville; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Schaefer and the Rev. John Carney officiating. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were sons. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
