Susannah Dicks Beaty married (1st) Josef Sininski Przyborowski from Poland. (Pronounced Shib-o-rou-ski).
Josef (anglicized Joseph) was born 1814 in Poland. He came to Charleston as a stowaway about 1830 when he was only 15 years old to escape the salt mines when Russia was in rule. He became a tailor's apprentice, legend says to the Gov. of SC. He learned to speak English by translating the entire Bible from English to Polish. He met and married Susannah Dicks Beaty in Conway, SC. where they married in 1839. Josef and Susannah moved to Anson County, NC where they opened a tailor shop. They had 5 children, all girls. Only one daughter, JoAnna, survived to adulthood. The other four daughters died before the age of 12.
