Mr. Quinton J. Miller, age 85, of Newark, DE, died on Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Heartland Hospice House.
Mr. Miller was born Union County, SD on August 16, 1921, son of the late Joseph A. Miller and Marie Moline Miller. A telephone engineer by profession and member of the Telephone Pioneers, he enjoyed a 39-year career with New York Telephone until his retirement. Mr. Miller proudly served his country in the US Army from 1939 to 1945 and was currently a member of J. Allison O'Daniel Post 475, VFW in Newark. He remained interested in World War II history throughout his life and maintained an interesting collection of war-era memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet M. Miller; 4 children, Janet Graham and husband, Richard, of Landenberg, PA; Kenneth Miller of Sloatsburg, NY; David Miller and wife, Pamela, of Schenectady, NY; and John Miller and wife, Karen, of Albany, NY; sister, Fern Bickett of Adrian, MN; 6 grandchildren, Brian Graham and wife, Colleen, Steven Graham, Jennifer Muzzi and husband, Christopher, Danielle Winne and husband, Richard, Christopher Miller and Kenneth Miller, Jr.; and 5 great grandchildren, Michael, Shelby, Ashley, Ryan and Connor Graham.
Friends may call 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice House, c/o 261 Chapman Rd., Ste. 100, Newark, DE 19702.
