Edwin Stryzewski, War Veteran, Dies
Edwin C. Stryzewski, 61, of 249 John St., died Monday at 7:45 p.m. at his home. He had been ill since April.
He was born in Oshkosh on Nov. 7, 1894, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Stryzewski. A veteran of World War I, he was a retired mail carrier. He was married in Van Dyne on Aug. 15, 1923, to Miss Sadie Luebke, who preceded him in death in 1941. Mr. Stryzewski was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Men's club of the church and VFW.
Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Harold Mason, Mrs. Gene Voelkel, Mrs. Nathan Peterman Jr. and Mrs. Ronald Vajgrt, all of Oshkosh; three brothers. Henry Stryzewski, Akron, la., Harold and Herman Stryzewski, Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul W. Lueders, pastor of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Konrad Funeral Home from 4 p.m. on Wednesday until 10 a.m. on Thursday, and at the church on Thursday from noon until the hour of services.
