Pub in the Paris News in Paris, TX on Tuesday Aug 23, 1955 with his pic - DELTA JURIST DIES IN COOPER - Cooper - Judge R.H. (Bevo) Good 54, former Delta County judge & State legislator, died Tues at 5am at Janes Hospital, where he had been taken Sunday after a heart attack at home. Funeral arrangements were incomplete, but services will be held Wed afternoon. Delta Funeral Home has charge. The accompanying picture of Judge Good was made at the time he served as representative of the 126th District in the Texas Legislature, 1933-36. He had been county clerk of Delta County, 1925-28, and county judge 1929-1932 and was on the Selective Service Board during in WWII. Robert Hubert Good, son of John W. & Annie (Rattan) Good, was born 4mi west of Cooper on Dec 2, 1900. He attended high school here & later had law courses at UT. A lawyer & abstractor here, he had been a director of Delta National Bank since 1949 and was a steward of First Methodist Church. He was long active in Red Cross & other welfare work. Surviving are his wife, the former Mrs. Iva (Wright) Thompson, whom he married Sept 10, 1933; a stepson, Delon Thompson of Dallas, and a foster son, Jerry Wright, of Paris; a sister, Mrs. Owen Hooten of Cooper; and 2 brothers, Eldred Good of Chicago & Houston Good of Paris. ------------- same paper on Thursday Aug 25, 1955 - R. H. GOOD RITES - COOPER - Funeral services for Judge R. H. Good, 54, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church by a former pastor, the Rev. James E. Jones, now of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church in Paris. Delta Funeral Home made burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. The city hall was closed for the funeral and Delta & First National banks and Hooten Drug Store closed for the afternoon. [list of pallbearers]. Judge Good, city attorney of Cooper at the time of his death, operated an abstract business in addition to his law practice. He was former county attorney, county judge and legislative representative of Delta County. A number of years ago, he had been employed at the Scott Title Company in Paris. He died in Janes Hospital after a heart attack at home on Sunday.
