My uncle, Harry Knopf Stevenson, was born in Philadelphia on December 1, 1910, probably at 440 Glenwood Avenue. He was the son of John Ashfield and Ella May Faunce Stevenson. By 1914, he moved to New Jersey with his parents. He was living with his parents and siblings in April 1930, working as a truck driver for a feed store, and courting Miss Edith Irene Oliver. Harry and Edith were married on June 21, 1930, at the Oliver family home on Academy Street in Clayton, Gloucester County, New Jersey. He was a very good tenor banjo and guitar player and was a member of a four man band.

Harry worked at several jobs until he started working at DuPonts around 1938. He worked there until he retired in 1975. Harry and Edith had 3 children; Lois Joan, Harry Knopf, and Robert Leslie. Harry and Edith were divorced in 1943.

While working at DuPonts, Harry met Mary Ruth Howell. They were married in 1945 and settled on Marlton Road in Woodstown, Salem County, New Jersey. They had one child. Harry died at the Salem Hospital in Salem, New Jersey on November 26, 1977 and was laid to rest in the Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey.
