Lexa Tanner age 84, of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010. Mrs. Tanner was born March 30, 1926 in Gouldbusk, Texas, Coleman County to parents, Bennie C. Smith and Stella Ozie Buck Smith who preceded her in death along with her loving husband, Lockhart Tanner; son, Freddie Lynn Tanner; granddaughter, Peggy Joene Tanner; sister, Drucilla Smith Barker; and nephew, Thomas Wesley Copeland.
Survivors include her daughter, Jodie Tanner; son and daughter-in-law, Roger Bennie and Mary Alcorn Tanner; grandson, Shannon Bernell Tanner; granddaughter, Trudi Lynell Tanner; step-grandson, Bud Dugat; niece, Connie Beth Copeland Wood; numerous other treasured family members and a host of faithful friends beyond measure.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2010, Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas; with interment at Lum's Garden of Memories, Macedonia, Texas. Pallbearers included Johnny Pancamo, Wesley Barron, Billy Cole, Pistol Tanner, Cecil Brown, Earnest Jones, Gurvis Vandver, Gerald Lum; honorary pallbearers, Jerry Jones, Joe Wood, Runt Mizell, Harvey Mizell, BuckTanner, and Dubby Tanner.
