Guy Lester Cooper Sr. was born in Humboldt, Richardson County, NE on July 3, 1880. He was the son of Orrin A. Cooper and Calista E. Merrifield.

Guy married Josephine L. Brunn on May 24, 1905, at Humboldt, NE. Their children are: Guy L. Jr., Charles Albert, John R. and Calista (Mrs. M.N. Hughes).

In 1900, he was with O.A. Cooper Company Inc. Humboldt Flour Mill, feed mixing plant, ice and cold storage plant. He was bulk oil Director 1900-1918, partner of his father. Then he had grain elevators in Humboldt, Barneston, Odell and Diller.

He was also owner of a farm, cattle hog and sheep, and member of the school board for 20 years. During WW I, enlisted in the OTC US Army 1918. Guy was involved in many organizations, later becoming Pres. of the Cooper Milling Company. He resided at Humboldt, NE.
