Visitation and services will be in Summers Funeral Home with Rev. L.B. Howard and Rev. Rolland Devore presiding. Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. McDowell was born Nov. 21, 1900, in Richland County, the son of Warren Ed and Lavina (Patterson) McDowell. He married Goldie Luke Aug. 27, 1921, and she survives.
He was a retired trucker and a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include two sons, Charles, Dundas; John, Calhoun; two daughters, Helen M. Davis, Tuscon, Ariz.; Rebecca Schmuker, Calhoun; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rev. Lowell McDowell; three sisters, two brothers, a half-sister and a grandchild.
