Death Occurs at Memorial Hospital Following Major Surgery
Henry T. Rash, a resident of Winterset for the last five years, died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Tuesday, Feb. 22. He had been ill but a few days, and entered the hospital Tuesday morning for major surgery.
Mr. Rash was 83 years of age at his death. He was a native of Hardin county, where he was born at Union on Aug. 11, 1871, a son of Lewis and Rachel Rash. His early life was spent in farming, which occupation he followed until about 1915. After that, for many years, he worked at the trade of carpenter, living at Hubbard and New Providence. He had been retired in recent years.
He was married in 1902 to Elsie Bucknell, whose death occurred in 1926. They were parents of two children, Lloyd Rash of Winterset and Mrs. Ray Gorsuch of Winona, Minn.
In addition to the two children, he is survived by 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday from the funeral parlor at Union, and burial will be made in the Miller cemetery in that community.
