He grew up in Houghton where he received his degree in Forestry from Michigan Technological University.
Peter had a great love for the woods and spent his entire working career with the woods industry. Over the years, he worked for the Ford Motor Company, Calumet and Hecla Mining Company, Goodman Lumber Company and Soo Hardwoods, eventually retiring from the Michigan Association of Timbermen in 1990.
Peter was a Korean War Veteran, having spent two years in the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Colahan. He was also a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, the Masonic Temple and the Professional Foresters of America.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy G. Noblet, whom he married on June 23, 1956; two sons, Peter (Becky) Noblet of Escanaba, Robert (Eileen) Noblet of Marquette; a daughter, Lisa Noblet of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Katherine (John) Masyra of Clinton Township, Mich. and Ann (Wendell) Smith of Birmingham, Mich., as well as four loving grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bert and Gladys Noblet; and two brothers, Jack and Dick Noblet.
