Mr. Ravenkamp was a carpenter, a local home builder and construction superintendent for Yockers Construction, Busboom and Rauh and Jarvis Construction. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Alcoholics Anonymous and a member of St. Mary's Queen of the Universe parish.
Survivors included his wife, Susan; two sons, John J. Jr. and Jim M.; seven daughters, Linda Ingram, Marjorie Albertson, Mary Miller, Teresa Eddy, Cindy Eisenhauer, Judy Larsen and Ann Nowlin; a sister, Veronica Martin; a brother, Richard; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
