Nancy A. Dial, 79 ROSCOE - Nancy A. Dial, 79, of Roscoe died at 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Born Oct. 29, 1930, in Carbondale, the daughter of Wayne and Ruth (Cummins) Ely. Graduated from Johnston City High School, Class of 1948, and Southern Illinois University, Class of 1952. Married Ed Dial on March 15, 1952. Lived 39 years in Roscoe, coming here from Cary. She owned and operated Upholstery Fabric Outlet for 30 years, taught night class at Blackhawk Tech and was a home economics teacher a North Boone High School. Member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church, where she was active on many church committees, projects and was a Sunday school teacher and member of Vesper Circle. Nancy was very compassionate, generous, caring, and will be missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include husband, Ed Dial; daughter, Ann (Mike) August, and grandchildren, Eric and Amanda August, all of Roscoe; sister, Martha (Bob) Dahlstrom of Rockville, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jeff. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, in Roscoe United Methodist Church, with Dr. Jay D. Carr officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Final resting place will be in Zion Grove Cemetery, Marion County.
